The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I met my future husband, Larry, during our junior year at Penn State when my sorority, Delta Delta Delta, worked on a service project with his fraternity, Sigma Pi. After we graduated in 1959, we married and went to live in Bergen County, New Jersey, where we raised three children, a daughter, Lydia, and two sons, Chris and Curt. Larry worked in New York City in the life insurance industry, and I taught school part-time for 14 years in Ramsey, NJ. During that time I also received a Masters Degree in Education from William Paterson College in New Jersey. After our youngest child entered college, I taught full-time for 10 years in Saddle River, NJ, retiring in 1997. I loved having both a family and a teaching career! Our family still has strong ties to Penn State. Lydia graduated from Penn State and received her Masters Degree from the University of Chicago. Chris graduated from Cornell and completed his Masters Degree at Boston College. Curt received both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Penn State. We're all Penn State proud (even Chris!) and love returning to Happy Valley for the football games. Now that Larry and I are both retired, we've been busier than when we were working! Our time is spent with visits to our three children and five grandchildren, lots volunteer work with our church, and international travel. Our picture shows Larry and me at our 50th wedding anniversary celebration in August 2009. Life is good!
